THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL(ACADEMICS)
We at Loreto look back with a lot of pride and sat-isfaction at the great strides the institution has made in the last sixty years since its establish-ment both in academics and infrastructure.
Our school has contributed immensely to the em-powerment of the girl child over the years.
Our objective has consistently been to nurture our students into becoming all round individuals. This we have done by offering them holistic education. Our curriculum is diversified and rich, hence relevant to the growing needs of the society.
We thank God that we have been lucky to have had principals who are focused, passionate, development conscious and visionary. Much credit for the developments we have attained go to the current Chief Prin-cipal, Mrs. Lydia Kariuki, the board of management and a vibrant Parents Association.
The Deputy Principal -Academics is the principal’s assistant and is charged with the responsibility of coor-dinating all academic related programs in the school including management of curriculum and instruction, organization and administration of the approved school curriculum, working in conjunction with the Deputy Principal – Administration to ensure that high standards of discipline are maintained and supervising cur-riculum implementation.
The office of Deputy Principal- Academics was established in 2016 and I, Mr. Richard Omondi was ap-pointed to the position by The Teachers’ Service Commission in September 2016.I work hand in hand with the important offices of the Dean of Studies, Academic Heads of Departments and the examinations office which play an integral role in the area of academics. I am also patron of the students’ Academic Board.
I feel privileged to work with committed, passionate and technologically savvy staff who have embraced I.C.T. I believe that collectively we are more than capable of propelling our school to academic greatness.
My parting shot to all the teachers, parents and students is that, “We must always aspire to inspire in whatever we do.”
Mr. R. I. Omondi
Deputy Principal (Academics)
